Meet the Teacher

Hi, I am Anita Namugenyi, a fully qualified primary school teacher with a burning passion for teaching children how to read. With over 10 years of classroom experience working with premium international schools in Uganda (GEMS Cambridge International School, Kings International School and Kampala International School Uganda), I have witnessed the transformative power of literacy and its profound impact on a child's education.

As the founder of Little Readers Shine, I have dedicated my career to equipping children with the essential skills needed to learn reading from an early age. Through fun and engaging videos on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, I strive to reach a wider audience and inspire parents to actively participate in their children’s reading journey.

My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from Kyambogo University, Uganda, which has given me a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of human society, including its structures, dynamics, and interactions. Building upon this, I pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Education at the University of Nottingham, UK, where I honed my teaching techniques and gained valuable insights into creating engaging and effective literacy programs.

My ultimate goal is to empower parents with practical strategies and knowledge to assist their children in becoming confident readers. By sharing my expertise and experience, I aim to bridge the gap between home and school, fostering a collaborative learning environment where children thrive. Together, we can cultivate a love for reading, opening up endless possibilities for academic success and personal growth for our children.
